A.J. Speight, Jr.

A.J. Speight, Jr. was born in Johnston County,North Carolina on March 29, 1949 to the late A.J. and Dillie "Aleen" Hagans Speight, Sr. On November 15, 2012, God in His infinite wisdom and power called A.J. home to eternal rest.
A.J. attended the Greene County Public Schools where he graduated from South Greene High School in 1969. He then began his employment career and had various jobs, one of which was Alliance One until his retirement.
A.J. loved the Lord. He became a member of Best Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Snow Hill, North Carolina where he served as Steward and a member of the Gospel Choir.
A.J. married the love of his life, Annie Marie Bynum Speight. He loved his family and enjoyed many speical times with them. A man with a kind and gentle spirit, A.J. was willing to help anyone who was in need.
He was a true mentor to his nephews. His presence will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of his life and legacy will be held Saturday at 12 noon at Best Chapel Free Will Baptist Church 3386 NC Highway 58 North Snow Hill, North Carolina. Elder James Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home with the family receiving friends there from 7 pm to8 pm. They will receive friends at other times at the residence, 2177 Davis Mill Rd,Fremont,North Carolina and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
