Alphonso Knight, Sr.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2012 God in His infinite wisdom and unfailing power called Alphonso Knight, Sr. home to eternal rest. Alphonso was a resident of Avante of Wilson. He was born to Charlie Ray and Ruth Barnes Knight Jackson in Wilson, North Carolina.
Alphonso attended the Wilson County Schools. Later he began his career as a self-employed painter. Because painting was his passion he worked for many years in this area.
Realizing a need for a Supreme Being in his life, Alphonso joined Simon Grove Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Herbert Williams, Jr. He enjoyed the fellowship and ministry.
Loving memories are forever cherished by his mother, Ruth Barnes Knight Jackson of Washington, DC; a son, Alphonso Knight, Jr. of Wilson, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald Crutchfield will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 603 Lane St, Wilson. They will assemble at 514 New Bern St, Wilson one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
