Amy Artis Hooker

Ms. Amy Artis Hooker, age 61, of 6112 Lucama Road, Lucama, North Carolina was called to her heavenly home on Friday, August 28, 2020.  A service in loving memory of her life and legacy will be held Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 1 pm at Contending For the Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, North Carolina. Reverend Damien Royal will officiate.  Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.

She leaves many cherished memories to her daughters, Latoga Artis (Tonya) of Lucama, NC and Nikita Sharpe (Allen) of Macclesfield, NC; her grandchild, Nikia Sharpe; a god daughter, Angie Chapman of Wilson, NC; two sisters, Lola Artis of Lucama, NC and Linda Ward (George) of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Pastor Curtis L. Artis (Barbara) of Wilson, NC, Charles Hodge (Sue) and Clarence Hodge both of Lucama, NC; seven aunts, Bernice Jones, Madgeline Taylor, Dorothy Burn, Ester Hooker, Judy Thompson and Faye Hooker; one uncle, Arthur Lee Artis; five brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law; special friends, Linda Best and Sylvia Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 726 South Tarboro Street, Wilson, North Carolina.  There will be an inspirational wake from 7 pm to 8 pm at Anointed Word Church Minstries, 6503 US Highway 301, Lucama.  The family is receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession.
