Barbara Grace Lucas Sharpe

Funeral service for Barbara Grace Lucas Sharpe age 58 of 303 Grace St, Wilson who died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville will be held Thursday at 1 pm at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 317 Beauvue Rd, Elm City. The Rev. Dr. Patricia Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park where military rites will be performed.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Wade Artis and Marjorie Lucas. She was employed with R.H. Donnelly's in Elm City, NC and Owens and Minor in Wilson, NC before migrating to Camden, NJ. She served her country faithfully in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve where she retired as Staff Sergeant.

Barbara joined Genesis Church Ministries,on December 25, 2009 Elm City, NC under the leadership of her sister, Rev. Dr. Patricia Simmons. She will be dearly missed by all whom knew her.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by, hser sons, Reggie Dion Sharpe of Minneapolis, MN abd Adrian Marshall Sharpe of the home; her sisters, Rev. Dr. Patricia Lucas Simmons (William) of Elm City, NC, Peggy Lucas Melton, Deborha Lucas Bullock (Harold) and Sabrina Lucas Langston (David) all of Wilson, NC; four brothers, Ervin L. Lucas (Pamela) of Newark, DE, Wade B. Lucas (Janis) of Staunton, VA, Billy R. Lucas and Vincent C. Lucas of Bailey, NC; one aunt, Myrtle B. Smith of Elm City, NC; one uncle, Vernell Boddie, Jr. of Elm City, NC; a great aunt, Alma W. Lucas of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble at 5174 Lake Wilson Rd, Elm City, NC one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
