Funeral service celebrating the life of Belinda Barnes age 51 of 1325 Orren St NE Apt. 1, Washington, DC formerly of Wilson who died Thurday at Washington Hospital Center will be held Saturday at 11 am at Carrons Funeral Home 325 East Nash St, Wilson. The Rev. Angela Battle will be the eulogist, and the Rev. Dr. Patricia Simmons will preside. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.
Belinda was the daughter of the late Mae Helen Barnes Carter and the late Leamon Earl Lucas.
Reared in Washington, DC, Belinda was educated in the Prince George County Public Schools.
Belinda was a lovable person with great spirit. She would always offer words of encouragement and would always make you laugh. She will be certainly be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Left to remember her with love and thankfulness are two daughters, Tequia Marie Barnes of Washington, DC and Shawntae Gearo Franklin of Maryland; two sons, Lonnie Jay Barnes, Sr. (Joy) of Oxon Hill, MD and Kevin Lionel Barnes, Sr. Danielle) of Washington, DC; two aunts, Mattie Renfrow (Androcus) of Elm City, NC and Deborah Barnes (Riddick) of Wilson, NC; two uncles, Lonnie E. Barnes of Washington, DC and J.C. Joyner (Bertha) of Elm City, NC; a devoted friend, Lonnie Tyson; three grandchildren, Kevin Lionel Barnes, Jr. Kamari Leonard Barnes and Lonnie Jay Barnes, Jr.; her adopted grandchildren, Dominay, DeAngelo, Temoni, Jordan, Tiffany and Joshua; a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Androcus Renfrow 5133London Church Rd, Elm City, NC and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
