Bernice Thompson Kent

Ms. Bernice Thompson Kent, age 75, of Wilson was called to eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018.  Bernice was married to the late Smiley Kent.  She was the daughter of the late Ira Earl Thompson and Ora Lee Swinson Thompson.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church, 6161 Lucama Road, Lucama.  The Rev. Jeffrey Simms will officiate.  Interment will follow in Rocky Branch Church Cemetery, Kenly.

Loving and lasting memories are cherished by her daughters, Deidra Darden of Durham, NC and Sarita Wallace of Crofton, MD; her son, Smiley T. Kent (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Hazel Downey of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda Hunter (Dennis), Jacqueline Simms and Katrina Robinson all of Wilson, NC, four brothers, Leander Collins, Ira Thompson, Jr., James Earl Thompson (Anne) and Eddie B. Thompson (Freida) all of Wilson, NC; three sisters-in-law, Linda Kent Parrish of Kenly, NC, Gwendolyn Kent of Clinton, MD and Leila Kent of Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home.  The family is receiving friends at the residence of Ms. Jacqueline Simms, 309 Freeman St, Wilson and will assemble there at 1 pm on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.  Please remember the Kent Family in prayer.
