Funeral service for Ms. Bessie Simmons Barnes age 81 of 4920 Ward Blvd., who died Monday at her residence will be conducted Thursday at 12 Noon at St. John AME Zion Church 119 N. Pender St. The Rev. Dr. Michael Bell will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Ms. Barnes is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Farmer of the home, several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held today from 3PM to 7PM at Carrons Funeral Home 325 Nash St East.
