Bettie Lee Eatmon

Funeral service for Bettie Eatmon age 71 of 7703 Oscar Loop Rd, Lucama who died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at the WilMed Nursing Home will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at 1 pm at Atkins Memorial Tabernacle 6740 Rock Ridge Sims Rd, Sims, The Rev. Joe Eatmon will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.

Bettie was the daughter of Gladys Mitchell Eatmon and the late James Eatmon. She received her education in the Wilson County Public School System.

Realizing a need for a supreme being in her life, Bettie joined Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a mother. She was one who loved the Lord and was always busy in the service of the King until her health failed her.

In addition to her father preceding her in death were her daughter, Maritha Eatmon; her son, Billy Ray Eatmon;four brothers, Lawrence Eatmon, Clayton Eatmon, Wallace Eatmon and James Ray Eatmon; two grandsons, Phanta Eatmon and Anthony Dontra Eatmon.

She leaves to remember her with love and thankfulness, her daughters, Lynda Jean Eatmon of the home, Carolyn Marie Eatmon and Wanda Eatmon of Lucama, NC and Debbie Bouhli (Hassan) of Wilson, NC;two sons, Silas Earl Eatmon and Anthony Lee Eatmon (Pamela) of Wilson, NC; Four sisters, Rosa Lee Eatmon, Gladys Marie Harris, Shirley Ann Meeks (Curtis) and Deborah Harris (Earl) all of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Lewis Eatmon and Thomas Eatmon (Phyllis) of Wilson, NC and Vernon Eatmon (Maxzine) of Monroe, NC; three aunts, Early Mae Simmons of Lucama, NC, Martha Blue of Wilson, NC and Lena Kento of Sims, NC; twelve grandchildren, three special sons,John Barnes of Lucama, NC, Don Barnes of New Market, MD and Ron Barnes (Regina) of Ft. Mill, SC;her godmother, Sudie Howelll; five godchildren, Key-Ray, Neil, Marquise, Jermaine and April Hooker; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including two special friends, Helen Dew and Mary Chapman.

A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 5{30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 pm to 8 pm at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church 104 Coley Circle, Lucama. They will receive friends at other times at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Pam Eatmon 5609 Wellings Ct, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
