Carrie Elizabeth Wynn Green age 86 of 308 Rountree St, Wilson passed away Tuesday at her residence. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, Elm City. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
Carrie was born in Wilson, North Carolina on April 9, 1926 to the late Dorch Wynn and Mary Eliza Staton Cobb. Affectionately known as "Mother Carrie" to family and friends, she was a faithful and dedicated member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Elm City, North Carolina.
Loving memories are cherished by her daughter and caregiver, Brenda Barnes of New Rochelle, NY; her stepdaughters, Arnette Haywood, Veronica Lucas and Angelette Rivas all of Maryland; her stepsons, Edwin Green, Ricky Green, Wayne Green, Keith Green, Paul Green and Bruce Green; two sisters, Margaret Desa of Elm City, NC and Vera Joyner of Chantilly, VA; her brother, Rudolph Cobb of Washington, DC; forty-five greandhildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, nine grear-great grandchildren, an adopted daughter, Belinda M. Casey; three lifelong friends, Edith Artis, Eula Stevens and Savannah Wright; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence at all times and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
