Christine Barnes Williams

Mother Christine Barnes Williams, age 87, of 1110 Hines Street SE, Wilson, NC was called from labor to reward on Thursday, May 31, 2018.  Mother Williams was the daughter of the late Freeman Barnes and Mertie Jones.  She was a faithful member of Flat Rock Church of Christ Disciples of Christ where she served as a member of the Mother Board.

A celebration of her life and legacy will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1 pm at Flat Rock Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 6730 Flat Rock Rd., Sims.  Elder Donald Loftin will officiate.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deloris Jones of Wilson, Elnora Wiggins of Bellerose, NY, Alether Artis (Richard) of Durham, NC, Magdeline Atkins of Washington, DC and Evangelist Audrey Mangum (June) of Wilson; her sons, James Williams of Raleigh, NC, Albert Williams of Fayetteville, NC and Levi Williams of Wilson; one sister, Barbara Nell Barnes; one brother, Sammy Ray Barnes; twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Thursday in preparation for the funeral procession.  Condolences may be directed to carronsfuneralhome.com or faxed to 252.237.0120.
