Donald Lee "Lap" Woodard, Jr. age 56 of 3304-B Christopher Dr, Wilson died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville. Bishop Herbert Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Donald was the son of Donald Woodard, Sr. and the late Hazel Artis Woodard. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Jean Sauls and his son, Michael Ward.
Donald received his education in Wilson County Public Schools. Over the course of many years, he was employed with various manufacturing companies including Nexan, Parker Tech, Joy Manufacturing and Alliance One.
To remember Donald with love are his wife, Brenda Joyce Woodard of the home; four children, Veda "Shawan" Woodard and LaBobbi White both of the home, Shelita Richardson and Tawanda Parks both of Wilson, NC; his father, Donald Woodard, Sr.(Mae) of Wilson, NC; four sisters, Brenda Woodard (George), Mary Newman and Bertha Davis all of Wilson, NC and Judith Davis-Crenshaw (Glenn) of Hephzibah, GA; four brothers, Thomas Woodard and John Davis both of Wilson, NC, Timothy Woodard of Goldsboro, NC and Ronald Woodard (Carlotta) of Norlina, NC; one special grandson, Makhi Eatmon of the home; three granddaughters, Asiana, Khiya and Kinchina; five aunts, Mary Coley (Roney) and Lonia Anderson both of Wilson, NC, Elizabeth Howard (Bobby) of Fremont, NC, Doris Davis (Joe) of Eureka, NC and Marjorie Horne of Stantonsburg, NC; four uncles, Andrew Woodard (Essie Mae) of Farmville, NC, Theodore Woodard (Susie) of Baltimore, MD, Roscoe Woodard and Calvin Woodard (Arlene) both of Wilson, NC; three brothers-in-law, Willie Barnes, Jr. and Donnie Barnes both of Wilson, NC and Pastor Darrick Barnes (Cleo) of Saratoga, NC; two sisters-in-law, Eula Mae Abraham (Paul) of Ft. Washington, MD and Lenora Kirby of Greensboro, NC; his Godbrother, Joseph "Jo Boy" Joyner; a special family, The Etheridge Family; a special friend, James Pitt; a special cousin, Roscoe "Squirt" Woodard, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at all times at 3815 Irene Dr, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation.
