Dorothy Lee Broadie Lancaster age 83 of Washington, DC formerly of Wilson, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 1 pm at William Chapel Church, Elm City, North Carolina. The Rev. Jimmy Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in William Chapel Church Cemetery.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Louise Broadie of Inglewood,CA and Beulah Yvonne Russell of Los Angeles, CA; her grandson, Derrick Lancaster of New Orleans, LA; her granddaughter, Tonette Lancaster of Washington, DC;one great granddaughter, Iche; two greatgrandsons, Derrick, Jr. and Niko; two aunts, Thelma White of Durham, NC and Martha White of Wilson, NC; oneuncle, Fred White of Durham, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her best friend and neighbor, Lillie McBride of Washington, DC.
A viewing will be held Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will assemble at the Hampton Inn, Wilson, North Carolina one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
