Dorothy Ree Sauls Artis

Ms. Dorothy Ree Sauls Artis age 62 of 206 East 95th St Brooklyn, NY passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012. Dorothy was affectionately known to family and friends as "Dot". She was born to the late Mattie Louvenia Sauls and Addy Thompson in Snow Hill, North Carolina.

Her formative years were spent in Snow Hill, North Carolina where she attended Greene County Public Schools graduating from Greene Central High School. She furthered her education at Baruch College in Brooklyn, NY and later became employed with Chase Manhattan Bank and AT & T.

Believing in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ she joined Berean Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many different capacities.

Left to remember her with love are her daughter, Makela Artis of Brooklyn, NY; her sons, Damarcus Artis and Khardryk Artis of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Mary Sauls and Adlene Holmes of North Carolina and Catherine Breland of New Jersey; one brother, Amos Thompson of Jamaica, NY; two grandchildren, Demetrya Ford and Damarcia Nedd-Artis of Brooklyn, NY; three godchildren, Shaina McClain of Pennsylvania, Jorea Shirley of Georgia and Alexandria Shirley of Brooklyn, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Artis Family Cemetery, Stantonsburg, North Carolina.
