Funeral service for Mr. Eddie Lee Simms age 62 of 3724 Dianne Dr, Wilson who died Friday, Mar. 25 at Tarboro Heritage Hospital, Tarboro will be held Saturday at 1 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Pastor Phyllis Simms will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Eddie was the son of the late, Zelousted and Ruth Mae Farmer Simms. He was born in Wilson, North where he worked for many years as a collector of various items.
Precious memories are cherished by his daughter, Joy Marie Simms of Wilson, NC; two sons, Lonnie Simms (Phyllis) of Knightdale, NC and Eddie Maurice Simms of Wilson, NC; four sisters, Addie Mae Atkins (Leroy) of Saratoga, NC, Ellen Holder of Bowie, MD, Helen Whitfield (Ben) of Indiana and Annie Barnes of Washington, DC; two grandsons, Keshaun Simms of Black Creek, NC and Dashaun Simms of Wilson, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Leroy Atkins, Dazelle's Place, Saratoga and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
