Edna G. Jefferson

Edna Gray Rouse Jefferson, 83, was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2615 Tilghman Road, Wilson. Bishop Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 4 -8 p.m. Friday at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson. The family will receive friends at 900 Vance St., Wilson, and will assemble there at 10 a.m. Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.

She was born on July 16, 1932 in Wilson County to the late Marvin and Amanda Ford Rouse. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Dee Jefferson and Alexander Jefferson.

Edna spent most of her life in Wilson. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 22 years. She loved her church family and her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, traveling and completing word search puzzles.

Loving and lasting memories are cherished by four daughters, Helen Crumel (Grover), Edna Jefferson and Colnedia Burke (Wayne), all of Wilson, and Alice Webb (Donnie), of Vine Grove, Kentucky; one son, George Jefferson Jr. (Sue), of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Nabatha Wallace, of Philadelphia, and Leslie Williams, of Raleigh; 20 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
