Effie Howard Battle

Effie Battle age 100 of Brooklyn, NY formerly of Pinetops, NC passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 12 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Association Bynum Farm Rd, Pinetops. Bishop Willie Mercer will officiate. Interment will follow in Carver Cemetery, Pinetops.

Left to cherish her memories and legacy of love are her daughters, Mary Andrews of the home, Effie Ree of Brooklyn, NY and Ernestine Johnson (Harvell) of Tuscaloosa, AL; her son, James Arden Battle of East Rutherford, NJ; twenty-five grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Nora Smalls and Queen Esther Harris of Rocky Mt, NC; one brother-in-law, James Allen Battle of South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of her granddaughter, Linda Raspberry, 906 W. Vance St, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
