Eliza Theames Jones

Eliza Theames Jones daughter of the late Harry Jefferson and Edie Theames Sabbs was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on March 7, 1918. God in His infinite wisdom and unfailing power called her home to eternal rest on February 8, 2012.
Eliza was a faithful member of Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson, North Carolina where she served diligently on the senior usher board and the mother board for as long as she was able.
Precious memories will continue to linger in the hearts of her daughters, Jean Matthews and Brenda Jones-Staggers of Wilson, NC; her sons, Johnny Jones, Jr. (Virginia) of Manhattan, NY, Luther Jones (Carolyn) and Charles Jones both of Wilson, NC; two sisters, Reginia Royster and Nettie Pindell of Summerton, SC; her brother, Edward Sabbs of Summerton, SC; twenty grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Eunice Jones and Annabell Hobbs of Goldsboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A service of celebration of her life will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Barnes Chapel Church 1004 Railroad St, Wilson. The Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate, and the Rev. Steven Kent will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of Brenda Staggers 405 Westover Rd, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
