A celebration of the life of Mr. Fitzgerald Burnett Murrain age 73 of 206 Moss St, Wilson who died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his residence will be held Tuesday at 1 pm at Jackson Chapel First Missionary Baptist Church 571 East Nash St, Wilson. The Rev. Dr. Freddie Barnes will officiate. Interment is to follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Murrain is the son of the late George Richard and Della Mae Whitehead Murrain. He was a retiree of Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. in Wilson, North Carolina. Fitzgerald was a faithful and dedicated member of Jackson Chapel Church where he served in many different capacities. He was a member of the Men's Choir, the Usher Ministry, the Security Ministry and the Men's Fellowhip.
Fitzgerald graduated from Charles H. Darden High School in 1958 and thus was a member of the Darden Alumni Association.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Jeffrey Murrain (Janet) of Lawton, OK and Vincent Murrain of Wilson, NC; his daughters, Vicki Bulluck (Sheldon) of Mableton, GA and Chandra Murrain of Greensboro, NC; a loving and devoted friend, Gwendolyn Speight Murrain of Wilson, NC; two brothers, George Murrain (Barbara) of Goldsboro, NC and Merle Murrain of Wilson, NC; two aunts, Grace Artis and Victoria McCray (Wilford) both of Wilson, NC; eight grandchildren, Yasmeen, Chelsea, Sir Vincent, Andrew, Lacey, Zoe, Syndie and Joshua; two great grandchildren, Eric and Isabella; a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Monday from 4 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home with visitation to be from 7 pm to 8 pm. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
