Gerald Blount, age 66, of 6729 Jay Cross Road, Fremont, NC was called to eternal rest on Friday, November 25, 2016.

A celebration of his life and work will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street Extension, Wilson, NC. Elder William Rogers will deliver the eulogy, and the Reverend Douglas Atkinson will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Extension, Wilson, NC.  A public viewing will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 East Nash Street, Wilson, NC.

Precious memories are forever cherished by his wife, Patricia Williams Blount of the home; his sons, Steven Blount of Alexandria, Virginia, Bryan Blount (Sophia) of Charlotte and Eric Blount (NaMetris) of Fort Mills, South Carolina; his mother, Helen Batts of Wilson; three sisters, Virginia Williams (Bennie), and Shirley Williams (Thomas), all of Wilson, and Carolyn Jones (Curtis) of Raleigh; four brothers, Bobby Blount, Willie Leon Batts of Wilson, Derrick Batts (Sheila) of Hampton, Virginia, and Delvettio Batts (LaTonia) of Washington, DC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there at noon Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
