Geraldine Hatcher Jackson was born on November 20, 1936 to the late Leroy and Clarine Edwards Hatcher in Wilson, North Carolina. On Sunday, January 6, 2013, God called her home to her eternal rest.
Geraldine was affectionately to known to family and friends as "Dinny". She spent her formative years in Wilson, North Carolina where she attended the Wilson County Schools.
Dinny was a member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Wilson, North Carolina.
A caring and loving mother, sister, grandmother and dear friend, Dinny will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents preceding her in death were her husband, Johnnie J. Jackson; a son, Genny R. Woodard;and a granddaughter, Felicia Hayes.
Precious memories are cherished by her daughters, Jacqueline Jackson Smith, Louvenia Jackson Hassell (Laroah), Gloria A. Woodard and Darlene Jackson all of Wilson; her sons, Larry D. Woodard (Cynthia), Leon Woodard (Ilene) and Ronald R. Jackson all of Wilson, NC; two brothers, Jerry Hatcher (Nell) Of Wilson, NC and Reginald Hatcher (Lanita) of Hyattsville, MD; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews, two special cousins with whom she was reared, Doris Royster of Washington, DC and James Bynum of Temple Hills, MD; a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
