Gladys Mitchell Eatmon, age 95, of 303 Dewey St, Wilson was called to eternal rest on Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Mitchell and Louise Dew Mitchell.
A celebration of her life and legacy will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1 pm at Faith Temple United Holy Church 402 Minchew St., Wilson, NC. The Reverend Malcolm Eatmon will deliver the eulogy, and Dr. Ernestine McGee will preside. Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.
Left to remember her with love and thankfulness are her daughters, Rosa Eatmon of Lucama, NC, Gladys Marie Harris (Daniel), Shirley Meek (Curtis) and Minister Deborah Harris (Richard) all of Wilson; her sons, Elder Louis Morris Eatmon and Thomas Eatmon (Phyllis) of Wilson and Vernon Eatmon (Maxine) of Monroe, NC; three sisters, Earlie Simmons of Lucama, Lena Kent of Sims and Martha Mitchell of Wilson; thirty-four grandchildren, seventy-three great grandchildren, fifty-one great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 pm to 8 pm at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church 104 Coley Circle, Lucama. They will receive friends at other times at the residence and at 1003 N. Vance St., Wilson.
