Hattie Sanders Phillips

Funeral service for Ms. Hattie Phillips age 93 a resident of Wilson Pines Nursing & Rehabilitstion Center who died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 will be held Saturday at 1 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Dr. Sarah Hardy will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Hattie was the daughter of the late Garfield and Bessie Knight Sanders. She spent her formative years in Sharpsburg, NC. Later in life, she met and married Walter Phillips and to this union ten children were born. In addition to her parents preceding her death were eight of her children; Rosa Lee, Bessie Mae, Annie Pearl, Mary Dean, Peggy, Jack, William and Walter.
Hattie was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who paid special attention to seeing that the needs of her family members were always met. Her kind, gentle and sweet spirit will always be remembered.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Geraldine Dupree of washington, DC and Lucille Thompson of Wilson, NC; her grandchildren, one stepdaughter, one stepson, a host of nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of her caregiver, Quintina Webb, 507 Broughton St, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
