Funeral service for James Earl Bynum age 71 of 5724 Hwy. 91, Wilson who died Thursday at Wilson Medical Center will be held Sunday at 1 PM at St. Paul Church of Christ Disciples of Christ 4139 Frank Price Church Rd, Wilson. Elder David Sutton will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
James was the son of the late Herman and Evelyn Moore Bynum. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1958. James was employed with Thurston Motor Company where he was a trusted and diligent employee for twenty-seven years.
Left to remember James with love and joy are his wife of forty-five years, Lois Edmundson Bynum of the home; one son, Maurice Bynum (Angela) of Wilson, NC; four daughters, Brendatte Hall (Freddie) of Rex, GA, Sharon Knight (Ollie) and Stephanie Bynum Ray both of Raleigh, NC and Renee Stroud (David) of Upper Marlboro, MD; eight grandchildren, Brenshonda (Robert), Darrick, Shakeda, Brooks, Tiffany, Tabious, Dorien and Jalen; one great grandchild, Makayla; three brothers, Charles Bynum (Olivia) of Raleigh, NC, Clarence "Joe" Bynum (Brenda) of Wilson, NC and Paul "Carl" Bynum (Shirley) of Henderson, NC; five sisters, Doris Parker (Nehemiah) of Kinston, NC, Carol Jean Williams and Christine Bynum both of Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth "Ann" Lucas (Dwight) of Wilson, NC and Zida Howard of Sharpsburg, NC; two brothers-in-law, Chester Edwards (Linda) and Cedric Dawson both of Wilson, NC; four sisters-in-law, Cynthia Vick, Jeanette Edwards, Josephine Mitchell all of Wilson, NC and Lena Bynum of Snow Hill, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funereal Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
