Joaquin Martinez Rivera, Jr.

Joaquin Martinez "Jack" Rivera, Jr. , age 65, of 104 South Pender St., Elm City, NC passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  Jack was the son of Joaquin Rivera, Sr. and Cecelia Jenkins Rivera.  

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 25 at 1 pm at Cherry Chapel Baptist Church 102 US Highway 301 South, Elm City.  Minister Amelia Rivera-Speight will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Precious memories are cherished by his wife, Almeta Rivera of the home; his daughters, Terri Bryant (Curtis) of Carthage, NY, Juwana Rivera of Philadelphia, PA and Minister Amelia Rivera-Speight (Antonio) of Elm City, NC; two sisters, Narisca Rivera-Martin of Silver Spring, MD and Adelina Rivera-Robinson (Luther) of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Marcello Rivera of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, a special aunt, Annie "Dot" Batts; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Minister Amelia R. Speight, 106 South Pender St., Elm City and will assemble there at 12 noon on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
