Johnnie James Ellis, Sr.

Mr. Johnnie James "Top" Ellis, Sr., age 86, of 3707 Old Sharpsburg Loop, Wilson was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.  Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1 pm at the Robert King, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Carrons Funeral Home, 726 South Tarboro Street, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

He leaves his legacy of love and devotion to his wife, Bessie Cameron Ellis of the home; four children, JoAnn Williams (Lorenza) and Kenneth Ellis of Wilson, NC, Johnnie James Ellis, Jr. of the home and Michael Barnes (Sonia) of Larchmont, NJ; five sisters, Martha Inman, Josephine Mercer and Mary Mercer all of Wilson, NC, Barbara Jean Smith (McArthur) of Middlesex, NC and Sarah Winstead of Elm City, NC; one brother, Sylvester Mercer of Wilson, NC; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home.  The family is receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession.  Please keep the Ellis family in prayer during this most difficult time.  Condolences may be directed to carronsfuneralhome.com or faxed to 252.237.0120.  They may also be emailed to carronsfuneralhome@gmail.com.
