Johnnie Junior Kirk, 59, of 6301 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, formerly of Wilson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Rose Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 605 S. Douglas St., Wilson. Bishop Malcolm S. Johnson will deliver the eulogy, and Bishop Willie Thomas will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Loving and lasting memories are cherished by his son, Ledell Woodard, of Baltimore; four sisters, Mamie Lewis (Kenneth), of Orlando, Florida, Jo Ann Smith, Marilyn King and Sylvia King, all of Wilson; four brothers, Otis Lee Sherrod (Mary), Lee Roy Kirk (Mable), Elder Alfonza King (Gwen), and Larry King (Sharon), all of Wilson; one granddaughter, Teinelle Judy Woodard, of Baltimore; four aunts; two uncles; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 3 - 6 p.m. Friday at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson. The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Jo Ann Smith, 630 New St., Wilson, and will assemble there at noon Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
