Funeral service for Johnny Faye Chestnut age 44 of 1014 McDaniels St, Atlanta, GA formerly of Wilson who died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at her reisdence will be held Friday at 1 pm at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 1004 Railroad St, Wilson. Rev. Robert Wooten will officiate. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Johnny Faye was born in Wilson, North Carolina. She was affectionately known to family and friends as "Butterfly". She received her education in the Wilson County Schools and later attended the Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina where she received her Associate Degree. Her memory will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved her.
Precious memoires are cherished by her daughter, Alicia Deon Chestnut of Cary, NC; her son, Kevin Maurice Chestnut of Raleigh, NC; her parents, Frances McNeil Chestnut and Johnnie Lee Chestnut of Wilson, NC; her grandmother, Martha Lee Chestnut of Wilson, NC; three sisters, Patricia Lee Chestnut (Verne) of Rocky Mt, NC, Frances Diane Wade (Larry) and Teresa Chestnut Lucas (Tony) all of Wilson, NC; two brothers, Johnnie Earl Chestnut of Wilson, NC and Fenyanga Muhammad (Kendra) of Charlotte, NC; her granddaughter, Ah'Mya Chanel Lindsey of Cary, NC; her godmothers, Bertha Brooks and Shelia Hines; seven aunts, Geraldine Artis, Linda Faye Chestnut, Mattie Horton all of Wilson, NC, Sarah Chestnut of Baltimore, MD, Sadie Chestnut and Linda Chestnut of Fayetteville, NC and Betty Chestnut of Lucama, NC; six uncles, Jerry McNeil of Kenly, NC, Otis Fuller of Elm City, NC, Holly Chestnut of Lucama, NC, Billie Chestnut and Leonard Chestnut of Fayetteville, NC and Tom Horton of Wilson, NC; two great aunts, Doris Edwards and Bernice Deans of Wilson, NC; one great uncle, James Shelly of Wilson, NC; a special sister, Jackie Thompson; five nieces, seven nephews, two great nieces, two great nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the residence of her mother, Frances Chestnut 211 Kenan St, Apt. 215, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
