Joseph Ideal Ricks, Sr.

Deacon Joseph Ideal Ricks, Sr., age 84, of 2007 Worth Drive, Wilson was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. A celebration of his life and work will be held Sunday at 2 pm at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. Ext., Wilson.  Rev. Brandon E. Lucas will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sandy Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Stanhope.

Left to remember him with love and thankfulness are his his wife, Annie Bell Williams Ricks of the home; three sons, Joseph Ricks, Jr., Cedric Ricks and Derek Ricks; three siblings, James Louis Ricks (Jessica), Reginald Ricks and Jacqueline Ricks; a host of nieces, nephews, one brother-in-law, Al Williams; six godchildren, Vickie Hyman, Renata Barnes, Brenda Brewington, Cathy Collins, Hester Bailey and Philip Bailey; a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday from 12 pm to 2:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 East Nash St., Wilson with a wake to follow from 5 pm to 7 pm at Sandy Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 9197 Sandy Fork Rd., Wilson.  The family is receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there at 1 pm on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession.
