Joyce Faye Bailey age 69 of 8011 Wiggins Mill Rd, Lucama passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Wilson Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday at 2 pm at St. Rose Church of Christ St. Rose Church Rd,Sims. Elder Otis Finch will officiate. Interment will follow in Sane Williams Cemetery, Sims.
Joyce spent her formative years in Wilson County, North Carolina. After attending Fayetteville State University, she moved to Brooklyn, New York where she spent most of her adult life. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Curtis Raye Perry. To this union one daughter was born.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney Thomas and Retha Baines Bailey;her husband, Curtis Perry and one brother, Michael Bailey. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, s ister, aunt and friend, she will always be remembered in the hearts of her family and dear friends.
Her memory continues to linger in the heart of her daughter, Cheryl Perry of Lucama, NC; her granddaughter, Aliyah Hinson of Lucama, NC; five brothers, Sidney Thomas Bailey (Lana) and Robert Bailey of Sims, NC, Vernon Bailey (Jackie) and Kenneth James Bailey (Beth) of Wilson, NC and Chris Bailey (Henrietta) of Minnesota; one sister, Ethel Williams (James) of Lucama, NC; two aunts,Alice Baines of Sims, NC and Margaret Baines of Wendell, NC; one uncle, James V. Baines, Jr. of Sims, NC; one sister-in-law, Barbara Bailey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 3 pm to 5 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Thomas Bailey, St. Rose Church Rd,Sims and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
