Funeral service for Ms. Katie Gertrude Taylor age 88 of 1618 Lane St Ext, Wilson who died Wednesday will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle 1800 Lane St Ext, Wilson. Rev. Dorothy Brunson will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.
Ms. Taylor was a faithful member of New Christian Original Free Will Baptist Church where she served diligently as a mother.
Loving memories of Ms. Taylor are cherished by one son, James Taylor of Wilson; one sister, Cleo Goodman of Wilson; six grandchildren, Victor James Joyner and Viola Brown Tomlin of Wilson, James Taylor, Jr., Rotina Taylor, Terry Simpson and Kirk Simpson all of Wilmington, DE; one special great granddaughter who was her caretaker, Temeka Joyner of the home; a host of other special great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Monday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
