Kim Atkinson Holliday age 45 of 610 New St, Wilson passed away on Thursday at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Kim was the daughter of Moses and the late Katrina Pope Atkinson.
Kim received her formative education in the Wilson County Public Schools graduating from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1985. She furthered her education through Elizabeth State University and Wilson Community College obtaining her degree in nursing. She was employed with Avante Nursing Home of Wilson as a registered nurse. Kim was a member of Silver Star Chapter #26 Order of the Eastern Star.
Believing in a Supreme Being, Kim joined St. Rose Church of Christ Disciples of Christ at an early age. She believed that God is the source of our strength. Her kind encouraging caring spirit will dearly be missed.
Her survivors are her husband, Edward Holliday of the home; her son, Nicholas Chase Allen of the home; her son, Chase of Wilson, NC; her father, Moses Atkinson of Wilson, NC; a stepdaughter, Shaneka Willingham of Wilson, NC; her grandmother, Vera Pope of Wilson, NC; one brother, Corey Atkinson (Safiyyah) of Wilson, NC; one grandson, Chance Allen of Wilson, NC; two aunts, Charsena Thomas (James) of Elm City, NC and Angela Pope of Wilson, NC; one uncle, Charles E. Pope (Cheryl)Sims, NC; her father-in-lae, Johnnie Hadley of Wilson, NC; her mother-in-law, Virginia Holliday of Far Rcokaway, NY; a host of other relatives and friends.
Service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Contending for the Faith Church 1009 Academy St, Wilson, NC. Elder Damieon Royal will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Tuesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
