Lena Mitchell Kent

Ms. Lena Mitchell Kent, age 104, of 6379 Radio Tower Road, Wilson was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.  A celebration of her life and legacy will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 1 pm at Mt. Zion Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 810 Black Creek Road, Wilson.  Bishop Robert Earl Daniels will officiate.  Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.

Memories of Lena will forever be cherished by her daughter, Barbara Coleman (Roy) of Wilson, NC; six grandchildren, JoAnn Wood (Ray), Ricky Coleman (Biona), Derrick Coleman (Sheila), Teresa C. Joyner (Herman), Frederick Coleman (Crystal) and Joe Coleman (Tammy); two sisters, Earlie Simmons of Lucama, NC and Martha Louise Mitchell of Wilson, NC; twenty-two great grandchildren, including Tanisha Joyner who was her caregiver; nine great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

A viewing will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 4 pm to 8:30 pm at the Robert King, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Carrons Funeral Home, 726 SW Tarboro Street, Wilson with an inspirational wake from 7 pm to 8 pm.  The family is receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Friday in preparation for the funeral procession.  Condolences may be directed to carronsfuneralhome.com or faxed to 252.237.0120.  They may also be emailed to carronsfuneralhome@gmail.com.
