Lonnie Alston, Sr.

Lonnie Alston, Sr., age 82, of 1208 Raleigh St., New Bern, NC died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Pruitt HealthCare-Neuse.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Memorial M. B. Church 1106 Cedar St., New Bern.  The interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Bern, NC.  

Viewing hours will be from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oscar's Mortuary, 1700 Oscar Drive, New Bern, NC.  The family will be receiving friends at other times at the residence.

Mr. Alston is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ella Sykes Alston of the home; one son, Lonnie Alston, Jr. of Maryland; two daughters, Debra Alston Perry and Carolyn Alston both of Cary, NC; one sister, Lillian Alston Weaver of Wilson; two step-sons, Harold Hill, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Calvin Hill of Chesapeake, VA; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Professional services have been entrusted to Oscar's Mortuary of New Bern, NC.  Local announcements are made by Carrons Funeral Home, Wilson, NC.
