Margaret M. Batts

Funeral service for Margaret Melton Batts age 96 of 617 E. Main St, Elm City who died Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Nash General Hospital has been postponed to Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Cherry Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 102 US Hwy 301, Elm City. Rev. Brochoni Hart will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Margaret was a faithful member of Cherry Chapel Church where she served as a mother for more than fifty years.

Loving memories are cherished by six nephews, Rev. James Barnes (Minnie) of Stantonsburg, Leroy Barnes, Frank Weaver and William Hall (Mary) all of Wilson and Jimmy Barnes (Nellie) of Brooklyn, NY; four nieces, Mattie Weaver, Ruby Lee Barnes, and Velma Farmer (Leslie) all of Wilson and Shirleey Thorne (Bobby) of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Donna Ellis (Benjamin) and William Bellamy of Elm City; six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 1:30 pm at Cherry Chapel. They will receive friends at all other times at 2410 Adventura Ln, Wilson where they will assemble at 12 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
