Margaret Ester Parker-Dawson, 82, passed away suddenly on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson.
Margaret was born in Wilson County on Sept. 20, 1933, and raised in Elm City. She was the ninth child of the late Thomas and Emma Dew Parker. She attended Fredrick Douglass Elementary/ High School. She was married to the late Sylvester Thomas Dawson and resided in Wilson, before relocating to Waterbury, Connecticut in 1968. She was employed by Mattatuck/Teleflex Manufacturing in Waterbury for 26 years until retirement.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory two daughters, Lady Helen V. Chapman (Bishop Wilbert M.), and Minister Deborah Lucas Jackson, both of Waterbury, Connecticut; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Baines and Dorothy Braswell, both of Wilson, and Inez Rountree (Jesse) of Elm City; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Ruben Earl Parker; and a grandson, Anthony L. Chapman.
