Marjorie Bridgers Canady was born July 4, 1927 to the late Will and Balanche Pender. On Friday, July 9, 2010 God called Marjorie Bridgers Canady home to eternal rest.
Marjorie was affectionately known to family and friends as "Ma Rea". She was a faithful member of Jones Hill Primitive Baptist Church where she served diligently as a mother. Ma Rea was preceded in death by two husbands, Elder Isaac Bridgers and Deacon Charlie Canaday; and one son, Robert Lee Bridgers.
Her precious memory will remain in the hearts of her two daughters, Linda Pigford (Allen) and Peggy Newsome both of Wilson; two sons, Isaac Bridgers of the home and Douglas Ray Bridgers (JoAnn) both of Wilson; two grandchildren whom she reared, Anthony Earl Bridgers (Phyllis) of Lucama and Peggy Danielle Bridgers of Bailey; six sisters, Susie Isom, Thelma Anderson, Mary Hilliard, Doreatha Moody, Almeata Rawls all of Wilson and Pearlie B. Jones of Fremont; four stepchildren, Charlie Canady, Yvonne Canady, James Grant and Curtis Canady all of Wilson; eight foster children, three grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 pm at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle 1800 Lane St Ext, Wilson. Elder Robert Earl Daniels, III will officiate. Interment will follow in Middlesex Memorial Garden, Middlesex. A viewing will be held Friday from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 8 pm on Friday at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church 519 Singletary St, Wilson. They will receive friends at all other times at 711 Crowell St, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
