Mattie Ruth Satterwhite age 66 of 320 East Church St, Apt., 2C, Elm City, North Carolina passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Bishop English Edmundson will officiate. Interment will follow in Gardens of Gethesmane, Rocky Mt, North Carolina.
Mattie is survived by her father, Willie Whitaker of Rocky Mt, NC; her adopted mother who reared her, Lessie Mae Farmer of Elm City, NC; her daughter, Mary Louise Forbes of Elm City, NC; two sisters, Brenda Whitaker Pitt of Tarboro, NC and Lucille Dickens of Rocky Mt, NC; two brothers, Mangum Horne (Beatrice) of Nashville, NC and Calvin Horne of Wayne County, NC; one granddaughter, Veronica Forbes of Elm City, NC; three great grandchildren, Ty'Rell Boykin, Tyasia Boykin and Tatyana Forbes of Elm City, NC; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Horne of Nashville, NC, Christine Satterwhite and Pattie Satterwhite of Pinetops, NC; four good friends, Debbie, Anna, Jean and Pearl all of Elm City, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Thursday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence of Lessie Farmer, 210 Taylor St, Elm City, NC and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
