Mr. Michael "Mike" James Hunt, Sr., age 50, of Virginia Beach, Virginia formerly of Wilson transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, SE, Wilson, North Carolina. Reverend Julius Hunter will deliver the eulogy and Bishop Anthony Cox will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hunt, Sr.; his son, Michael Hunt, Jr.; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Hunt; his maternal grandfather, Theodore Lucas, Sr.; his nephew, Bryan Hunt and his stepfather, Willie Wilkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of eight years, Mary Hunt; his daughters, Nisha Hunt, Janae Hunt, Jamya Allen and Cornelia Hunt; his sons, Malcolm Hunt, Shantiz Hunt, Naquan Hinton, JahRightous Allen and Jason Hunt; his mother, Cornelia Faye Wilkins; his grandmother, Hazel L. Bell; two sisters, Bernadette Baines (Chris) and Zina Darden; two brothers, Joseph Franklin Hunt, Jr. (Nikki) and Ramon Wilkins. Also surviving are his grandkids who knew him as PaPa, Shylasia, Zoey, Jah'Tiz, Jah'Asia, Jordyn, Maikel, Jah'Royalty, Mikai and Ka'Mari; two aunts, Carolyn Evans (Robert) and Joann Bell; six uncles, James Hunt, Kenneth Ray , Theodore Lucas, Jr. (Triwana), Amos Bell, Jr. (Cynthia), Elder Douglas Bell (Tasha) and Gregory Bell; two great aunts, Cleo Levenston and Annie Doris; two special nieces, Melanie Myles and Ashley Watson; two special nephews, Kenneth Hunt and Tre Hunt; a host of other relatives and his extended family in Virginia Beach.
A public viewing will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at L.N. Forbes Tabernacle, Wilson. The family will be receiving friends at 1602 Dartmore Drive, Wilson, North Carolina, and will assemble there at 12:00 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
