Mildred Ruffin Swinson

Funeral service for Mildred Ruffin Swinson age 70 of 913-A Pender St, Wilson who died Saturday, May 15, 2011 at her residence will be held Saturday at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Progressive Primtive Baptist Church 810 Black Creek Rd, Wilson. Elder Ernest Ray Melton will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mildred is the daughter of Pearl Pender Phelps and the late Samuel Crumel. She was educated in the Wilson County School System where she graduated from Speight High School.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Zion Church.
Left to remember her with love and joy are her husband, Nathaniel Swinson of the home; two daughters, Edna Lorraine of Lawrenceville, NJ and Eva Elaine of Ewing Township, NJ; two sons, Ricky Wayne (Margaret) of Ewing Township, NJ and Victor Dwayne (Marie) of Plainfield, NJ; her mother,Pearl P. Phelps of Wilson, NC; five grandchildren, Rique' A., Amanda J., Matthew A., Ricky W., Jr., and Ryan M.; three stepsisters,seven stepbrothers, two aunts, Earleen Ruffin of Wilson, NC and Maybelle Ruffin of Alexandria, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including two special friends, Annie Farmer and Annie Margaret Rountree.
A viewing will be held Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of her mother, 608 Suggs St, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
