Funeral service for Nannie Mae Foster age 88 of 4673 West Langley Rd, Elm City who died Thursday, Nov. 24 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville will be held Thursday at 12 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The Rev. James Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Nannie was the daughter of the late Herman and Malinda Rowe Howard. In addition to her parents preceding her in death were her husband, Douglas Foster; four daughters, Nannie Foster Farmer, Daisy Foster Bland and two baby girls; one son, Walter Foster; three sisters, Counvia "Cheese" Wooten and Lounvia "Bean" Howard, Stella Little; two brothers, William Howard and Abbie "Ball" Howard;; one daughter-in-law, Josephine Ellis Foster. She received her education in the Wilson County Schools.
At an early age, Nannie gave her life to Christ. She was a faithful member of Brotherhood of Deliverance Church where she worked diligently as an usher. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Left to remember her with love are her daughters, Cora Foster of Wilson, NC and Sylvia Foster of the home; her sons, Rev. Ernest Foster (Phyllis) of Elm City, NC, Abbie "Ball" Foster of Wilson, NC and Claude Foster of Augusta, GA; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, five god grandchildren, two sons-in-law, Albert Farmer and Walter Bland; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Wednesday from 3 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home with the family receiving friends there from 7 pm to 8 pm. They will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to wervice in preparation for the funeral procession.
