Otis "Chubby" Pickett was born August 19, 1955 in Wilson, North Carolina. He departed his earthly life on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Aaron Hampton of Tampa, FL; his mother, Thelma Pickett Applewhite of Wilson, NC; three sisters, Joyce Allen, Mary Barnes and Lakeisha Applewhite all of Wilson,NC; three brothers, Jesse Pickett, James Appleshite and Larry Applewhite all of Wilson,NC; four aunts, Carolyn Inman of Jacksonville, NC, Mary Hester Farmer, Delores Pickett and Dorothy Mae Lewis all of Wilson,NC; three uncles,William Pickett and Jimmie Bailey of Wilson, NC and Saul white of Myrtle Beach, SC; his caregiver, Irik Battle; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including two special friends, Brenda Farmer and Joseph Anderson.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Apostle Beverly Hamm will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Tuesday from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of his mother, 613 Stephenson St,Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
