Ovivian Rogers Herring, daughter of the late Frank and Queenie Rogers was born August 19, 1922 in Wilson, North Carolina. She passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Wilson Medical Center.
Ovivian was a dedicated member of Trinity Deliverance Church Wilson, North Carolina where she served faithfully as a mother.
Precious memories of her are cherished by three daughters, Linda Hooker (Thomas), Joyce Lavender (Maurice) and Minister Dian Newby (Elder Donnie Newby) all of Wilson; two sons, Charles Herring (Judy) and Randolph Herring (Beverly) both of Wilson; two sisters, Mary Gray of Spring Valley, NY and Rev. Lucretia Daniels of Raleigh, NC; three adopted daughters, Minister Grace Harris, Sandrek Fox and Minister Toni Parker all of Wilson; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Monday at 2 pm at Mt. Calvary Evening Lights Church 208 Pender St, Wilson. Pastor Carrie Jacobs will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday from 2 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends there from 7 pm to 8 pm. They will receive friends at other times at the residence of her son, Charles Herring 1600 Downing St, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
