Rassie "Nut" Joyner

September 3, 1949 — October 12, 2012

Rassie Joyner affectionately known to family and friends as "Nut" was born September 3, 1949 to the late George and Ruth Joyner Dew.

Rassie spent his formative years in Wilson, North Carolina where he attended the Wilson County Public Schools. After graduating, he joined the United States marine Crops and served our country faithfully for two years.

On Friday, October 12, 2012, God called Rassie home to his eternal rest. His presence will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to remember him with joy is his son, Michael Earl Joyner, Sr. of Stockbridge, GA; his grandson, Michael Earl Joyner, Jr. of Stockbridge, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 am at Carrons Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffrey Simms will officiate. Intermen will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Veterans Section.

A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence of Hattie Ward Grant, 5032 Boswellville Rd, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
