Rev. Calvin Woodard

January 18, 1929 — April 4, 2011

Rev. Calvin Woodard was born in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late Marcellus and Adlonie Fields Woodard. On Monday, April 4, 2011 God in His infinite wisdom and unfailing power called him home to eternal rest.

Calvin was a dedicated employee of Wilson County Schools (Beddingfield High School) for twenty years. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Woodard.

Left to remember Calvin with love and thankfulness are his wife, Arlene Ward Woodard of the home; three daughters, Calandra Woodard of the home, Charlene Falls and Josephine Richardson Barnes (Eddie) both of Wilson; three sons, Sheriff Calvin Woodard, Jr. (Timberly Cherie') and Bobby Richardson both of Wilson, NC and William Richardson of Pittsburgh, PA; a special daughter-in-law, Davonnya Phelps of Wilson, NC; five sisters, Marjorie Horne of Stantonsburg, NC, Lonia Anderson and Mary Coley (Roney) both of Wilson, NC, Doris Davis (Joseph) and Elizabeth Howell (Bobby) both of Eureka, NC; five brothers, Andrew Woodard (Essie Mae) of Walstonburg, NC, Donald Woodard (Mae Bert) and Roscoe Woodard both Wilson, NC, Brody Williams (Minnie) of Goldsboro, NC and Theodore Woodard of Baltimore, MD; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle 1800 Lane St Ext, Wilson. The eulogist will be Bishop Willie Thomas and Pastor Mamie Woodard will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 2 pm to 4:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Simon Grove Holiness Church 4334 Hwy. 42 East, Wilson. They will receive friends at all other times at the residence 5030 White Oak Loop, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
