Reverend Dr. Patricia Lucas Simmons, age 70 of 5174 Lake Wilson Rd, Elm City, NC transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, September 24, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Wade and Marjorie Lucas.
A celebration of her life and work will be held 2 pm Sunday, October 1, 2017 at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street, East, Wilson, North Carolina. Bishop William Barber will deliver the eulogy, and Reverend Roderick Tillery will preside. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
A viewing will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at Johnson Chapel Church 317 Beauvue Rd, Elm City. They will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there at 1 pm on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession.
Loving memories are forever cherished by her devoted husband, William “Mike” Simmons of the home; her sons, Tracy Tyrone Armstrong (Linnette) of Charlotte, NC, Elton Eugene Armstrong (Clansa) of York, PA and Rodney Batts (Tracey) of Garner, NC; her daughters, Jackie Poole of Washington, D.C. and Cynthia Finch of Wilson; three sisters, Peggy Melton, Deborah Bullock (Harold) and Sabrina Langston (David) all of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Ervin Lucas (Pam) of Newark, DE, Billy Lucas of Bailey, NC and Vincent Lucas of Durham, NC; one granddaughter, Alexis Armstrong of Coatesville, PA; four grandsons, Akil Armstrong of Richmond, VA, Omari Armstrong of Greensboro, NC, Travis Batts and Trevor Batts both of Garner, NC; her mother-in-law, Julia Barnes of Wilson, NC; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
