Roosevelt Joyner, Sr. age 71 of 7964 Town Creek Rd, Elm City was called home to eternal rest on October 26, 2011. Roosevelt was the son of the late James and Nettie Randall Joyner.
Left to remember Roosevelt with love and joy are his wife, Peggy Jean Joyner of Kenly, NC; his daughters, Wilhemina Pope of Wilson, NC, Ann Coley (Derrick) of Sims, NC, Katina Barnes (Daryl), Wanda Knigjt (Donnell) of Kenly, NC and Yelanda King (Doug) of Grovetown, GA; his sons, Danny Liles, Dwight Joyner (Carol), Roosevelt Joyner, Jr. all of Wilson, NC and Terry Joyner (Angela) of wendell, NC; five sisters, Virginia Barnes of Kenly, NC, Esselean Joyner of Spring Hope, NC, Shirley Joyner of Philadelphia, PA, Queenester Tisdale of Washington, DC and Louise Joyner; two brothers, James Joyner (Delores) of Lucama, NC and Wallace Joyner of Brroklyn, NY; sixteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Faith Temple Church 402 Minchew St, Wilson. The Rev. Otis Finch will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemtery.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 5054 Old Stantonsburg Rd, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
