Mrs. Rosa Elizabeth Arrington Simms, age 81, of 900 Faison Street, Wilson was called home to eternal rest on Monday, April 30, 2018. Rosa was the daughter of the late Edward Lee Arrington and Hattie Margaret Lucas Arrington. She was the loving and devoted wife of Mr. Joe Louis Simms.
A celebration honoring her life and legacy will be held 1 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Extension, Wilson. Bishop Shelton Leon Parker will be the eulogist, and Apostle Gwen Robinson-Council will be the presider. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Loving memories are forever cherished by her husband, Joe Louis Simms of the home; her daughters, Wanda Simms Page (Craig) and Kimberly Denise Simms both of Durham, NC; three sisters, Geraldine A. Wiggins of Upper Marlboro, MD, Brenda A. Dawson (Sam) and Melisa A. Pitt (Anthony) both of Wilson; one brother, Roy Arrington of Cheltenham, MD; two granddaughters, Rachel C. Banks of Baltimore, MD and Kelly D. Page of Durham; one grandson, William D. Page of Durham; one sister-in-law, Ellen S. George of Hampton, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon to 1 pm at L.N. Forbes Tabernacle. They will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there at 11 am on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession. Please remember the Simms Family in prayer.
