Thurman Lee Turner

Thurman Lee Turner, age 93 a resident of Avante of Wilson passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was the son of the late Jasper and Mattie Turner.
Therman served our country faithfully in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his career as a brick mason. He was a longtime resident of the Tasman Towers in Wilson, North Carolina until his health began to fail him.
Believing in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Therman became a member of Farmington Heights Church in Wilson, North Carolina. He served diligently as a member of the Weloming Committee as a greeter.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Farmington Height Church 910 Raleigh Rd Pkwy, Wilson. The Rev. Lavon Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Veterans Section.
Loving memories are cherished by his goddaughter and caregiver, Valerie Harper of Wilson, NC; special friends, Effie Darden and Marvin Dixon of Wilson, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of Valerie Harper, 700 Edwards St, Wilson.
