Tommie "Nate" Barnes

Funeral service for Tommie Barnes affectionately called "Nate" by family and friends age60 of 2503 Downing St, Apt. B, Wilson who died Sat, April 2 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville will be held Sundayat 2 pm at Higher Calling Baptist Church 4036 Ward Blvd, Wilson. The Rev. John Melvin Wooten will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Veterans Section.

Nate served our country faithfully in the United States Air Force. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Loving memories are cherished by three sisters, Rennie Barnes Carr (Larry) and Minister Barbara Allen both of Wilson, NC and Rosemary Barnes of the home; one brother, Navorise "Doc" Barnes of Wilson, NC; five aunts, Annie Mae Ellis, Bernice McCoy, Mary Gray Coleman and Ollie Mae Barnes allof Wilson, NC and Barbara Jean Smith of Norfolk, VA; one uncle, Charlie Barnes of Baltimore, MD; four nieces, Sharon Barnes and Zartisha Holden both of Wilson, NC, Sharee Hunter and Camil Hunter both of Richmond, CA; four nephews,Brandy T. Barnes of the home, Navoa Barnes, Brian Barnes and Rodnickos Barnes all of Wilson, NC; six great nieces, eight great nephews; a special friend who was like a brother, Scottie Lucas of Wilson, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at all times at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Larry Barnes 500 Fairview Ave, Wilson and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
