Vera Lee Cobb Ellis, daughter of the late Arthur and Annie Jane Armstrong Ellis was born May 24, 1926 in Wilson, North Carolina. On May 1, 2012 at Life Care Hospital, Rocky Mt, North Carolina, Vera peacefully took flight home to her eternal rest.
Vera was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. She attended the Wilson County Public Schools and later became a certified licensed practical nurse. She always strived hard to make certain that fer family's needs were met. Vera worked for many years as a private duty nurse. Her kind and loving spirit will always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
Precious memories are cherished by her daughter, Patrice Ellis of the home; her sister, Odell Chunn of Maryland; six grandchildren, Varien Keys and Anthony Keys of Winston-Salem, NC, Shaina Smith and Jennifer Smith of Wilson, NC, Christopher Smith and Angel Ellis of the home; nine great grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, two great nieces, two great nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at a later date.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 2 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 306 Raleigh Rd Pkwy, wilson and will assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 pm in preparation for the funeral procession.
